Similar clearance shall be required in the case of persons whose duties involve the technical operation or maintenance of communication and information systems containing classified information. Access to EU TOP SECRET, EU SECRET and EU CONFIDENTIAL information shall be authorised only for persons in possession of the appropriate security clearance. The fact that not all individuals are cleared to the highest levels, associated with a lack of common need-to-know, indicates that there is a requirement for computer security features to provide elective access to, and separation of, information within the system. EU SECRET documents shall be destroyed by the registry responsible for those documents, under the supervision of a security cleared person. [..]
