Protocol on Social Policy

Definīcija:

The Protocol on Social Policy was adopted by the European Council in Maastricht in December 1991. It is annexed to the Treaty on European Union (q.v.) and reflects the same concerns as the Charter on social policy (cf. "European Social charter"). It was signed by 12 Member States and states the intention of 11 of them (the United Kingdom does not share the same objectives as the other Member States in this respect) to make significant progress in social policy matters. Since the enlargement of the Union the protocol has been endorsed by Austria, Finland and Sweden.
